Rocky Horror Picture Show

Back by popular demand, the Rocky Horror Picture Show returns with extra special guests: Baddest Bitch Peach Cobblah and the Queen of East Van Isolde N. Barron!!

If you’ve already experienced the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you know what a fun time you are in for. If you have never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you are in for a treat! Rocky Horror is so much more than just a movie. The writer, Richard O’Brien said it best, “It’s a guaranteed party!”

What other movie expects the audience to get involved, yell things at the screen and throw special props around the room? What other movie gives you the chance to be whoever you want to be for a few hours, the chance to stop dreaming and the chance to be instead?

What is it all about, you ask? Rocky Horror is the story of Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and his fiancée Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon), two young ordinary healthy kids, who set out to visit their old teacher, Dr. Scott (Jonathan Adams). But on their way there, the car breaks down and they are forced to walk to the creepy castle up the road in search of a phone. Instead, they find Dr. Frank N Furter (Tim Curry), a mad scientist/sweet transvestite who has picked that night to complete his masterpiece, by bringing a man of his own creation, Rocky (Peter Hinwood) to life. What follows is a night that will change our two heroes’ lives forever – and it might change yours, too.

It‘s understandable you may be a bit nervous, or perhaps you’re excited – maybe you’ve heard about all the guys and girls and…??? in fishnets and feathers – you’ll just have to come and see it for yourself!

Admission includes the Film ($15.00), your Props Package, entry into the Costume Contest, After Party and a donation to the Tidemark Theatre Society ($20.00). NOTE:  NO OUTSIDE PROPS ARE TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE THEATRE.

COSTUMES: Lots of people will dress up like characters in the film. If you want some help, check out our suggested websites. It is perfectly OK to just throw on your sluttiest lingerie (that applies to the guys, too, you know), your most elaborate outfit, a button down shirt and khaki pants, or just a pair of jeans and a T-shirt if that is what you are comfortable in. IF YOUR COSTUME IS REALLY SOMETHING, YOU MIGHT EVEN GET CALLED UP ON STAGE TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR COSTUME CONTEST BEFORE THE SHOW.

CALL BACK LINES: These are things people scream at the screen. Yes, you are encouraged to make noise. We love a good screamer. If you have already seen the movie, you may want to check out some CALL BACK SCRIPTS. If you haven’t, please don’t read them and spoil the surprises.

DANCING: Everyone gets up and dances when the Time Warp begins. Don’t know how? Don’t worry, it’s pretty simple and we will teach you and practice before the show begins.

PROPS: Certain events in the movie demand that props be thrown. NEVER THROW THEM AT THE SCREEN OR THE STAGE OR IN THE AISLES. Remember, if you are in the front rows, throw back. If you are in the back rows, throw forward, and if you are in the middle rows, throw up. NOTE: NO OUTSIDE PROPS ARE TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE THEATRE. Your Props Package will include: newspaper, squirt gun, flashlight, rubber glove, noisemakers, toilet paper, confetti, toast, party hat, and playing cards

ETIQUETTE: You are an important part of the show and what you do will affect everyone’s enjoyment of the evening. Respect the wishes of the theatre and its management. Vandalism and the breaking of the rules might not only lead to your ejection from the theatre, but also the closing of the film. This would spoil it for everyone. We hope you come in costume, but not completely naked.  Call back at the screen, but don’t shout down someone because the call back is different, and you don’t think it is as funny as yours. Celebrating our differences is part of the RHPS experience. Be loud, but not in someone else’s ear. Get up and dance. Toss your toast, toilet paper, etc, but UP and BACK away from the stage/screen and lighting equipment. It’s part of the fun and not meant to harm people, ruin someone’s make-up or costume, or cause damage to the theatre.
