The Tidemark Theatre Society Board of Directors

Penny Gosselin, President president@tidemarktheatre.com

Penny abounds in creative energy and sees our community as the art place to be. Her background includes leadership roles as an educator, the CR Arts Council, and Patrons of the Arts. Penny supports active engagement in partnerships between non-profit art groups. One of the highlights last year was the partnership between Patrons of the Arts, the CR Arts Council, and the Tidemark Theatre in putting on the Wearable Art Show in our theatre. It truly was an amazing evening showcasing visual and performing designers, models, and artists. Penny believes it to be a privilege to be on the Tidemark Board as it is an example of board and staff working together to give the best a theatre can offer to our community.

Jeremy Lupien, Treasurer

Jeremy and his wife, Jenn, moved to Campbell River in 2023, and the Tidemark Theatre quickly became one of the reasons they love this city. He is inspired by the Society’s vision “to be a nationally recognized centre for the arts”. Jeremy will tell you that the art deco look of the theatre is eye catching and striking, the performances wonderful, and the audiences amazing. His enthusiasm abounds.

Professionally Jeremy is an IT Senior Director in the BC Public Service. In a volunteer capacity he brings a deep commitment to community leadership and is honoured to be part of Team Tidemark.

Melanie Erickson, Director, Human Resources Chair

Melanie has lived on Vancouver Island for many years and built a successful career in the service industry, all while raising her two children on her own. She is now the proud grandmother of two mostly lovely little girls.

Melanie is currently a Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Check Realty. She thrives on the wacky hours and genuinely enjoys helping people find a place to call home.

Outside of real estate, Melanie is an active member of River Spirit and Prevailing Wins dragon boat teams—where her soul truly lives. Her hobbies include going to the theatre, travelling, photography, and boating (not fishing) with her husband.

Melanie is a strong champion of teamwork. Working alongside the Tidemark Theatre Society’s board and staff has been incredibly rewarding, and her dedication to the organization reflects her deep commitment to community, collaboration, and the arts.

Kerri Favelle, Vice President

After 30 years of family vacations in Campbell River, Kerri and her husband Brian made the move to call her happy place "home." The Tidemark Theatre quickly became a favourite spot to grow her own community, inviting new and old friends to take in the excitement and joy of our events.

Community care and building has always been important to Kerri, a life-long volunteer at organizations like Food Banks, Christmas Bureaus, Creative Community Service and now, Altrusa Campbell River. Collaborating with like-minded and -hearted people is what really lights her up; that and crafting, camping, and oceanside-strolling: the inspirations for her small business of handmade delights, Heart & Hand.

As a theatre enthusiast, Kerri is committed to and excited about being a part of a Board of Directors that champions the impact of live events on community enrichment.

Sarah Gaudreault, Secretary

Arriving in Campbell River in the summer of 2022, the Tidemark Theatre – a bright, historic jewel settled right in the downtown - beckoned Sarah. In 2024, she fulfilled her dream of performing on the landmark stage as a member of the Strathcona Symphony Orchestra.

Sarah’s passion extends to not only the theatre, but into the musical community as well. When she shares her excitement of forming and directing a new community singing group, her enthusiasm bubbles over.

Sarah brings to the Tidemark board over 10 years’ experience working at multiple levels of government in administrative and coordinating capacities. Her creative vision and skills are welcome additions to our thriving theatre’s board of directors.

Laura Lister, Director

I have had the pleasure of living on Vancouver Island for over 25 years, 15 of them being in the Oyster River area where we got to raise two amazing young ladies on a hobby farm.  Originally from the Sweet East Coast, I have been involved with many different and wonderful Campbell River organizations including Campbell River Day Break Rotary and now Tidemark theater, where I am honoured to be a part of this amazing Board and the work they do.  My partner, Jim Graham and I are the proud part owners of Campbell River Toyota where we do our best to support local initiatives and organizations including the Food bank, SPCA and the Outdoor Adventures Program at Timberline Secondary school just to name a few.  We are blessed to live in such a wonderful community and being able to enjoy boating and fishing, one of our favourite things to do.

Jane Kolonsky, Director

Jane is a familiar face at the Tidemark, having volunteered here since her retirement in 2017. She spent many years in the lending industry as a loan officer, followed by several years in the real estate industry, here and in Victoria, ending with a number of years at the Real Estate Council in Vancouver. She retired home to Campbell River to be with family.

Jane is most proud of her four children all born and raised in Campbell River. Her nine grandchildren range in age from 20 years to 4 months. Three of her grandchildren live in Campbell River, so she gets lots of Grandma time.

Jane believes the Tidemark is the heart of Campbell River, bringing together people from all walks of life. It's a place for entertainment and celebration and a place to laugh, cry, sing, dance, and celebrate. She is looking forward to being involved with the Board

Lisa Nicholas, Director

Lisa brings a strong background in business ownership, human resources, office management and accounting to the Tidemark Theatre Society.

From 2013 to 2021 Lisa was a valued staff person at the theatre. She has seen firsthand how important the arts are to Campbell River. Lisa is eager to contribute her experience as a business owner and past staff member to help guide the theatre’s future, while honouring its legacy.

Lisa’s get up and go enthusiasm and genuine love for the arts and community service are inspiring. Her team-focused approach is an asset to the Tidemark Theatre Society.
