 \nCity and Colour\, acclaimed singer\, songwriter and performer Dallas Green\, has announced an extensive Canadian tour for 2017. “An Evening with City and Colour – Solo” tour kicks off in Courtenay\, BC on April 1 and wraps up in Corner Brook\, NL on May 16 (full routing below). City and Colour will perform in an intimate theatre environment visiting 25 cities from coast-to-coast\, many for the first time\, coinciding with Canada’s 150th anniversary.  Green will perform songs from his vast award-winning catalogue\, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Matt Kelly from City and Colour’s touring band. DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday\, Toronto International Film Festival and the Campbell River Festival of Film present Stories We Tell\, part of the Canada On Screen initiative. \nSince acclaimed Canadian actor Sarah Polley first revealed her remarkable talents as a writer and director many years ago\, audiences have come to expect the aesthetic rigour and reserved yet deeply felt emotion she brings to her studies of human relationships. In her rst two features\, Away From Her and Take This Waltz\, she rendered the complexities of intimacy and desire with the eloquence and control of lmmakers with far more experi- ence. Away From Her in particular asked questions about how we can know ourselves or assess our lives if we can’t agree on the events of the past. Memory is truth — at least emotional truth. And nowhere in life are shared memories more ercely contested than in the family. \nStories We Tell\, Polley’s maiden voyage into the world of documentary\, is at heart a personal essay on the intractable subjects of truth and memory. Using a combination of archival footage\, still photos\, and testimonials in a captivating visual assemblage\, Polley examines the disagreements and varying narratives of a single family as they look back on decades-old events. \nThe responses from the “storytellers” chosen to share their version of things are heartfelt\, revealing\, and even charmingly funny. The result is a lively and richly textured documentary that seamlessly blends past and present\, the real and the imagined. Devoid of sensationalism and lled with tender and powerful moments\, the lm also serves as a loving homage to one key player who is no longer here to share her version. \nTIFF Film Circuit is excited to partner with REEL CANADA’s National Canadian Film Day 150 on April 19th to present over 150 free screenings across Canada . In the process\, they salvage thousands of dollars worth of good\, edible food – resulting in an inspiring documentary that tackles the complex issue of food in both our stores and our homes. \nPresented by the Youth Action Committee and the City of Campbell River \nAdmission by donation for youth environmental bursary \nBursary info: \n\nThis is the fourth year that the Youth Action Committee has offered the bursary using the funds raised at the Earth Week Film Festival (all donations at the door go toward the bursary)\nYAC set up the bursary to support a graduating SD72 student going on to post-secondary studies who has a focus on the environment (in their studies and/or their community involvement; the students must not only be doing well academically\, but also be involved in the community as a volunteer)\nEach year the bursary has been $500\nThe recipient is selected by School District 72 during the scholarship and bursary awards toward the end of the school year
