SUMMARY:The Quest for Hoag's Crystal Summer Theatre Camp
DESCRIPTION:Join the adventure! The Quest for Hoag’s Crystal is a two week camp\, in which students explore the magical world of theatre. Create your own original witch\,wizard or Muggle alter-ego. Quest to protect one of the most powerful magical artifacts yet\, in an original play set in a magic and wizarding world. \nIn this fun supportive environment\, this camp will cover essential theatre skills such as: projection\, character development\, memorization techniques\, improvisational theatre and staging. Participants are guided and coached on short scene creation while building these essential tools of performance. \nOther subjects to be covered include: \n– musical theatre movement/choreography\n– readers theatre/prose\n– tableau\n– costume and small prop creation \nParticipants will join in the guided creation of an original full production performed on the Tidemark Stage at the conclusion of the camp. \nCourse runs July 17-21 and July 24-28 from 9 am – 3 pm for youth ages 8-14.. Students need to bring their own bagged lunch. One snack will be provided daily. \nFinal performance on Friday\, July 28th at 2:00 pm.
