SUMMARY:Quadra Theatre's Take 10 (Quadra Island)
DESCRIPTION:Coming to an island near you this May is Theatre Quadra’s fabulous festival of short plays: ‘TAKE 10’. It will include performances for audiences of all inclinations: \n\nThursday\, May 12 6:30 pm: Dinner & Drama (3 yummy courses + 3 funny plays)\nHeriot Bay Inn – doors at 6:00 (TICKETS FOR THIS EVENT AVAILABLE ONLY THROUGH THE HERIOT BAY INN – 250 285 3322)\nFriday\, May 13 & Saturday\, May 14 7:00 pm: Adult Amusement (from first dates to final rites!)\nQuadra Community Centre – doors at 6:30\nSunday\, May 15 2:00 pm: Family Friendly (fun for kids in the audience and on stage)\nTsa Kwa Luten Lodge – doors at 1:30\n\nIn recent years\, Theatre Quadra has mounted eye-popping pantomimes\, madcap musicals\, thought-provoking one- and two-act plays\, and intriguing partnership productions. But something’s been missing… the short form! So\, Darcy Mitchell and Doni Laird (the festival’s intrepid organizers) were inspired to unleash a passel of pint-sized plays in last year’s spring season. That 2015 inaugural ‘TAKE 10’ festival was a huge hit\, so there’s no stopping now! \nThe plays average ten minutes in length\, offering a veritable smorgasbord of theatrical snacks. “Don’t like one play? Wait a few minutes and another comes along\,” says Mitchell. Plays include selections from prize-winning published writers and outstanding Quadra playwrights. “We believe that a short play festival is an ideal way of encouraging both new and experienced writers\, actors and directors to get involved with community theatre\,” explains Mitchell. “And since ‘TAKE 10’ was such a sensational success last year\, we simply had to do it again!” \nSo\, visit Quadra Island this May and enjoy excellent community theatre… ten minutes at a time! \nTickets: Friday and Saturday $15; Sunday Adults $10\, under 12 $5 (+applicable taxes and fees)
