SUMMARY:The Derina Harvey Band
DESCRIPTION:Fearless front-woman Derina Harvey leads this Alberta-based Celtic-rock act\, which offers an authentic east-coast experience with a fresh take on traditional tunes as well as their own original jigs and reels. Their rocky\, rhythmic undertow is layered with guitars\, fiddle\, and topped by Derina’s powerful voice. Recent recipients of the People’s Choice Award at the 2018 Edmonton Music Awards\, these transplanted east-coasters have earned a reputation with their high-energy live show\, leaving many an audience out-of-breath and hollering from their seats! 2017 saw the group expand their touring footprint due to several successful showcases across Western Canada in 2015 and 2016. The band’s first performance in the United States was in October 2017\, at the Arts Northwest Booking Conference in Tacoma\, WA\, where they received the award for Best Showcase. Most recently\, they were selected for a showcase at the 2018 Western Arts Alliance conference in Las Vegas. The group has logged over 120 performances in the last two years\, with many of these on the performing arts and festival circuits\, including tour dates in Western Canada\, Newfoundland\, and even the Northwest Territories. The band is currently writing original material (latest single “Up All Night” – release date July 20th\, 2018) and will release a full-length album or primarily original material in 2019. \nTickets: $17 Advance\, $20 At the Door (+applicable fees)
