DESCRIPTION:Highway 19 Concerts and the Anchor Inn & Suites are very excited to announce live music\, in person on the patio overlooking Discovery Passage\, Saturday July 10. Ticket includes BBQ steak dinner and an intimate concert performance by Juno nominated neo-folk quartet Aerialists. \nAerialists formed when BC fiddlers Adam Iredale-Gray and Elise Boeur met Scottish harp player Mairi Chaimbeul while students at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since they 2017 debut album Group Manoeuvre they have been accumulating awards and acclaim across Canada and beyond including a 2021 Canadian Folk Music Award for Pushing Boundaries\, a 2021 Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Roots Artist of the Year\, and a 2019 Juno nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year. \nAerialists are in a permanent state of graceful tight-rope walk\, balancing their love of folk tradition with their desire to experiment with form. Their 2020 release Dear Sienna is described by Folk Music UK as a “dazzling display of stellar musicianship”\, praised in Spill Magazine for its “gorgeous interludes\, fierce harmonics\, and biting rock riffs\,” and described as “a deep listening and thought-provoking journey\, chockfull of high-end musicianship” in Exclaim!. \nPrior to the pandemic\, Aerialists regularly toured Canada and Europe including performances at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival\, Vancouver Folk Music Festival\, Hillside Festival in Guelph\, Celtic Connections in the UK. They’ve just released a gorgeous new single Breaking Point in collaboration with Swedish group Långbacka/Bådagård\, and are as excited to get back to live performances as we are to have them to Campbell River. \nTickets are $60 each and include dinner beginning at 6:30 (8oz NY strip steak\, all-dressed baked potato\, and salad and veggie bar) with the concert starting at 7:15.
