DESCRIPTION:The Tidemark Theatre is excited to present Jah’Mila and Kim Harris\, in partnership with Music From the Edges of Canada! \nMusic from the Edges of Canada is a national music series that showcases 22 artists in 11 Live and Virtual Concerts in four Theatres from the edges of Canada. The venue partners are the Imperial Theatre\, Saint John\, NB; the Tidemark Theatre\, Campbell River\, BC; the Yukon Arts Centre\, Whitehorse\, YT; and the Northern Arts & Cultural Centre\, Yellowknife\, NT. \nJah’Mila \nJah’Mila\, born Jhamiela Smith in Kingston Jamaica\, has been a beacon for Jamaican music and culture with her talent for singing and positive messages of hope. \nLong playing the role of reggae ambassador\, Jah’Mila has been sharing international stages with the likes of The Wailers\, Groundation and Grammy award-winning reggae band Black Uhuru\, including Sly and Robbie\, for over 10 years. Being born into the very roots of the reggae family tree\, she bears high respect for the craft and understands the importance of her role in preserving and performing quality live reggae music. \nAs the daughter of internationally respected musician and Wailer alumni\, Earl “Chinna” Smith\, music became an inseparable part of her life from an early age. She was born with a melody in her heart and a fire in her soul. \nKim Harris \nKim Harris’ lush\, emotionally driven alternative pop is rich\, deep and moving. Her sophomore album\, Heirloom\, was named by CBC Music as one of the top 25 Canadian albums to look for in 2020\, and received an 8/10 review from  monthly Canadian music magazine\, Exclaim! \nHarris has been hailed by CBC Music as “the mightiest voice coming out of the East Coast” and has shared the stage with artists like Jenn Grant and Amelia Curran. DESCRIPTION:The Tidemark Theatre is excited to present Carmen Braden and Wesley Hardisty\, in partnership with Music From the Edges of Canada! \nMusic from the Edges of Canada is a national music series that showcases 22 artists in 11 Live and Virtual Concerts in four Theatres from the edges of Canada. The venue partners are the Imperial Theatre\, Saint John\, NB; the Tidemark Theatre\, Campbell River\, BC; the Yukon Arts Centre\, Whitehorse\, YT; and the Northern Arts & Cultural Centre\, Yellowknife\, NT. \nCarmen Braden \nCarmen Braden is an emerging force in the world of creative music\, hailing proudly from Yellowknife NWT. As a performer\, Carmen is “growing into the role of acoustic ambassador of the Canadian Subarctic” (Musicworks). \nHer contemporary classical compositions are nationally recognized\, with commissions and performances by world-class ensembles and performers including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra\, James Ehnes\, and the Canadian Chamber Choir. \nCarmen has been called “a talented\, bold musician” (Up Here Magazine). About her latest album: “Braden’s music is clear\, and it is bright…this recording is captured psychogeography.” (Whole Note); and her songwriting: is “quirky and clever…à la Joni Mitchell” (The WholeNote). \nWesley Hardisty \nWesley has been part of fiddling training programs as a student and now a teacher. He attended the Gulf Island School of Performing Arts and is currently in the NACC Mentorship program being mentored by acclaimed violinist/producer/ composer Jesse Zubot. Wesley is sought-after as a collaborator with fiddlers\, singer-songwriters\, and classical ensembles. DESCRIPTION:All members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting for the Tidemark Theatre Society to be held on Tuesday\, February 22nd\, 2022\, at 6:00 pm via Teams. Members in good standing will be sent an email with a meeting link. \nIf you are not currently a member of the Tidemark Theatre Society\, and would like to attend\, please send an email to tickets@tidemarktheatre.com to request a link. \nAbout:\nThe Tidemark Theatre Society is a local not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors.  The Tidemark Theatre Society has a membership base of almost 400 members and there are over 100 volunteers that regularly assist with the performances. \nMandate: \nThe mandate of the Tidemark Theatre Society is to be a nationally recognized centre for the arts that contributes culturally\, economically and socially to our community.  The organization strives to build and enrich our community by providing a variety of quality arts and cultural experiences and to encourage imagination\, innovation\, and originality in our support of the performing arts.
