SUMMARY:James & Jamesy In the Dark
DESCRIPTION:Canadian Comedy Award winners James & Jamesy turn out the lights in this remarkable feat of theatrical ingenuity—A daring\, hilarious\, and exquisitely choreographed comedy performed… in the dark. \nFrom the darkness of an unlit stage\, two strangers meet\, each with a chair and what appears to be the same task to complete: place the chair\, then leave. Their encounter disrupts their awareness of ‘self’ and ‘purpose’ and propels them headfirst into an exhilarating discourse of understandings and misunderstandings. \nWith masterful physicality and quick-witted wordplay\, James & Jamesy conjure answers to the age-old questions ‘Who are we?’ and ‘Why are we here?’ The result is laugh-outloud hilarious and surprisingly illuminating. \n“These guys are maestros at making theatre magic with the simplest of elements. It’s like watching two big imaginative kids in a tent with flashlights\, as they bring to life a whole world and invite you to step inside.” ★★★★★ -CBC \nTickets: $27 Members\, $32 Non-Members\, $15 Streaming (+applicable taxes & fees)

SUMMARY:Diyet + Jim Byrnes (Music From the Edges of Canada)
DESCRIPTION:The Tidemark Theatre is excited to present Diyet and Jim Byrnes\, in partnership with Music From the Edges of Canada! \nMusic from the Edges of Canada is a national music series that showcases 22 artists in 11 Live and Virtual Concerts in four Theatres from the edges of Canada. The venue partners are the Imperial Theatre\, Saint John\, NB; the Tidemark Theatre\, Campbell River\, BC; the Yukon Arts Centre\, Whitehorse\, YT; and the Northern Arts & Cultural Centre\, Yellowknife\, NT. \nDiyet \nDiyet is an alternative country\, folk\, roots\, and traditional with catchy melodies and stories deeply rooted in Diyet’s Indigenous worldview and northern life. Backed by Love Soldiers\, Robert van Lieshout (acoustic guitar\, drums & percussion)\, and Bob Hamilton (electric guitar\, pedal steel & mandolin)\, this multi-instrumental trio from the Yukon has a sound that can fill a big stage or capture an intimate room. \nDiyet was born in a tent and spent her childhood on the ancestral lands of the Kluane First Nation people in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Coming from a family rooted in traditions but tempered with a good sense of adventurous hippie attitudes\, Diyet has created a musical presence that is as diverse as her Southern Tutchone\, Tlingit\, Japanese and Scottish heritage. \nJim Byrnes \nJim Byrnes lives and breathes music. For nearly fifty years he’s crooned\, drawled\, belted\, hollered and sweet-talked more songs into a microphone than most people ever get to hear in a single lifetime. His evocative\, smoky vocals are found in a truth that doesn’t come overnight. The sheer joy you can hear in the music he creates is a reason to celebrate Jim Byrnes as a living musical treasure. \nHis fame as an actor equals his legendary music status. His numerous TV and movie roles include the Wiseguy and Highlander series\, and his national variety show\, The Jim Byrnes Show. \nWith many award-winning albums to his credit (Maple Blues Awards\, WCMAs\, Junos\, Canadian Folk Music Awards)\, Jim Byrnes is that artist who will light up the stage with songs and stories\, tried and true. \nTickets: $27 Members In Person\, $32 Non-Members In Person\, $10 Live Stream (+applicable taxes & fees) \n\nThe Music From the Edges of Canada series includes: \n\nKrystle Dos Santos + Locarno – October 28th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nJanet Cull + Irish Mythen – November 7th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nRoots & Grooves + Tiller’s Folly – November 20th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nSoda Pony + Joëlle Rabu & Nico Rhodes – December 6th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nWolf Castle + Les Hôtesses D’Hilaire – January 16th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nDiyet + Jim Byrnes – January 22nd\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nSpeed Control + David Gogo – January 29th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nJah’Mila + Kim Harris – February 13th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nCarmen Braden + Wesley Hardisty – February 19th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nAndrea Bettger + Digawolf – March 2nd\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nRyan McNally + Blue Moon Marquee – March 27\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\n\n\nTickets: $27 Members In Person\, $32 Non-Members In Person\, $10 Live Stream (+applicable taxes & fees)

SUMMARY:Ryan McNally + Blue Moon Marquee (Music From the Edges of Canada)
DESCRIPTION:The Tidemark Theatre is excited to present Ryan McNally and Blue Moon Marquee\, in partnership with Music From the Edges of Canada! \nRyan McNally \nWhether he’s playing with his own solo band or other various outfits\, he can’t be kept off Canadian stages. Ryan puts most of his energy into his passion for studying acoustic traditional blues\, jazz\, and old-time music. This led him to spend a winter in New Orleans where he wrote the majority of the material featured on Steppin’ Down South. This album is saturated with the sounds and rhythm of New Orleans streets. \nCurrently\, McNally is experimenting with scoring music to films as well as musical direction for theatre. All while keeping up a busy solo career and a steady touring schedule. \nBlue Moon Marquee \nBlue Moon Marquee is a swinging blues band born of the wild rose country\, Alberta\, Canada. They currently make their home in an island shack on the coast of the Salish Sea. \nArtists such as Lonnie Johnson\, Louis Armstrong\, Charley Patton\, Howlin’ Wolf\, Tom Waits\, Memphis Minnie\, and Django Reinhardt are deeply infused in the soul of their music. \nBlue Moon Marquee is a live duo with the energy and sound of a full band. Colette\, the rhythm section\, commands the upright bass and also brings the swing with her feet on drums\, all while singing harmonies. Cardinal is of the screaming and hollering blues tradition with distinctive thick and smoky vocals that barrel out like a raging bull. His guitar crackles with the swinging energy of jazz-tinged blues. \nTickets: $10 Live Stream (+applicable fees) \n\nThe Music From the Edges of Canada series includes: \n\nKrystle Dos Santos + Locarno – October 28th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nJanet Cull + Irish Mythen – November 7th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nRoots & Grooves + Tiller’s Folly – November 20th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nSoda Pony + Joëlle Rabu & Nico Rhodes – December 6th\, 2021 – 7:30 pm\nWolf Castle + Les Hôtesses D’Hilaire – January 16th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nDiyet + Jim Byrnes – January 22nd\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nSpeed Control + David Gogo – January 29th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nJah’Mila + Kim Harris – February 13th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nCarmen Braden + Wesley Hardisty – February 19th\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nAndrea Bettger + Digawolf – March 2nd\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\nRyan McNally + Blue Moon Marquee – March 27\, 2022 – 7:30 pm\n\n\nTickets: $10 Live Stream (+applicable fees)
