Accessibility at the Tidemark Theatre

The Tidemark Theatre is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for all members of our community. We are continually working to improve accessibility both in our venue and on our website.

If you have any questions or specific access needs, we encourage you to contact our Box Office in advance. We’re here to help.

Planning Your Visit

Getting Here

The main entrance to the theatre includes steps. A wheelchair-accessible ramp is located on the left side of the building.

All entrance doors, including the ramp entrance, have both automatic openers and manual pull options.

Accessible parking is available directly outside the theatre. There is currently no designated drop-off zone.

Seating

The theatre has five wheelchair seating locations, along with companion seating.

Accessible seating is held until other seating areas are sold out, after which it may be released. We recommend contacting the Box Office in advance so we can best support your seating needs.

Washrooms

Two accessible washrooms are located in the lobby on the main floor.

During Your Visit

Quiet Room

A quiet room is located just outside the main theatre. This space can be used at any time during a performance.

The room includes seating and a live audio feed from the stage, which can be turned on or off depending on your preference. This space is available for anyone who may need a break from the theatre environment.

Please note: the quiet room is not wheelchair accessible.

Sensory Considerations

Some performances may include:

  • Loud sound
  • Flashing or strobe lighting
  • Theatrical haze or smoke effects

When these elements are present, signage will be posted and audiences will be informed in advance whenever possible.

Scent Sensitivity

To help create a comfortable environment for all patrons, we encourage the use of scent-free products when attending performances. Some guests may have sensitivities to fragrances.

Moving Around the Space

Patrons are welcome to step out to the lobby at any time if needed. Re-entry may be held until a suitable break in the performance.

Assistive Listening

Assistive listening devices are available. Please speak with Box Office or Front of House staff for assistance.

Performance Style

Many of our performances are naturally relaxed in format, meaning audiences are welcome to move, and enjoy the performance in a way that works for them.

Support Persons (Access 2 Program)

The Tidemark Theatre participates in the Access 2 Card Program.

Patrons with a valid Access 2 card can receive a complimentary ticket for a support person. Tickets can be booked in advance, and the card must be presented at the Box Office.
