Fresh off another remarkable year that further cemented his place among Canada’s most compelling artists, Aysanabee opens the 2026/27 Quadra Concerts season with an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and emotional depth.

An Oji-Cree singer-songwriter from the Sucker Clan of Sandy Lake First Nation, Aysanabee has emerged as one of the defining voices in contemporary Canadian music. His breakthrough album Watin—named in honour of his grandfather—introduced audiences to deeply personal songs exploring family, identity, intergenerational resilience, and healing. His sophomore release, Here and Now, made history at the 2024 JUNO Awards when he became the first Indigenous artist to win both Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. He followed that achievement with two more JUNO Awards in 2026 for Edge of the Earth, winning Alternative Album of the Year and Contemporary Indigenous Artist (or Group) of the Year.
