The Tidemark Theatre and the Vancouver Island Symphony (VIS) are pleased to announce a new, Symphony From Your Sofa Streaming Series, featuring VIS musicians in 6 one hour, live-streamed performances.

This exciting season includes masterworks and discoveries from Schubert to Strauss, from Spain, Germany, France to Canada, with fun and unusual instrument combinations involving all of the VIS orchestral family.

Under the artistic direction of noted conductor, Pierre Simard, the VIS is a professional Canadian orchestra – one of only two on Vancouver Island. By attracting professional musicians and soloists from across the country, offering special education and community concerts and programming, and engaging active volunteers and donors, the VIS serves as a creative asset to the many communities of the growing Central Island area. Its wide-reaching audience and commitment to education are helping to Keep Music Live and foster the next generation of audiences and performers.

All events presented in 2020-21 under the Symphony From Your Sofa series will be available as both streaming concerts (for those wanting to watch from home) and in-person concerts for 50 people (for those wanting to watch live in the theatre).
