Come Dance With Me in Ireland
The glorious legacy of Irish art and literature is the inspiration for “Come Dance with me in Ireland”, a 2-hour Irish Dance spectacular.
Richly costumed dancers will delight the audience with graceful, flowing reels and slip jigs as they interpret the poetry of literary giants such as William Butler Yeats, Lady Augusta Gregory and J.M. Synge. The dancers’ skill and precision in rhythmic reels, jigs and hornpipes will set toes tapping and hands clapping to the beat.
Guest musicians and singers will join the dancers for a lively, “Hooley in the Kitchen” segment featuring the intricate Sean Nos, traditional style “Brush Dance”.
Guest artist, Doug Folkins, a popular Campbell River singer/songwriter and storyteller with a Celtic/Country twist will entertain with a selection of Irish medleys. Doug is perfectly happy to sing for friends at a kitchen party or down at the local pub, but he has also set his sights on becoming a renowned songwriter crafting hits for other artists.
“Come Dance with Me in Ireland” promises to be a lively show which will bring the beauty and joy of Irish literature, music and dance into the hearts of the audience. Irish dance has universal appeal so bring the whole family!
