FireSmart Fireside Chat

As part of Emergency Preparedness Week, the City of Campbell River and the Strathcona Regional District have teamed up to present a Fireside Chat in Two Parts.

Part One is a review of the 2017 Wildfires with Mark Petrovcic from the BC Wildfire Service. Sit in on an in-depth review of the effects of the 2017 wildfire season – the worst wildfire season in BC’s history.

Part Two will feature Henry Grierson from Strategic Natural Resources talking about FireSmart Principles. Homeowners can take simple steps to reduce wildfire impacts on properties and within our community. Learn more about the unpredictable nature and unique challenges and obstacles in fighting wildfires – and find out about practical, proactive ways to reduce the risk of wildfire in Campbell River and the surrounding region.
