Halloween One-Act Treats
A Halloween Treat!
Put on your costumes and other regalia and join Theatre Quadra for some Halloween fun. On stage at the Quadra Community Centre, October 31, November 2nd and November 3rd, will be two delightful and humorous one-act plays:
Once Upon a Broomstick by Sylvia Ashby is funny enough to entertain adults and just scary enough to delight little children without frightening them. Characters include a mean witch with a soft heart, a handsome young apprentice, a pretty young maid and a professor who has trouble remembering how to make his incantations work. Also appearing on stage are a caterpillar, a butterfly, a mouse and a very important magic door.
AND
Guess Who’s Coming to Halloween? by Cindy Poitier. The main characters in this humorous play are an atypical family; father is a vampire, mother a mummy and daughter a werecat. The problems start when the daughter invites her ghoulfriend over to help with Halloween. The parents don’t approve of their daughter’s friend and are not shy about expressing their dislike. The ghoulfriend can stand up for herself though, leaving the daughter trapped in the middle. Will the excitement of Halloween make relationships better or will it require divine intervention?
These are family friendly shows, most suitable children 10 years of age through adult.
Tickets: $15 Adult, $10 Student, $2 Child under 12Â (+applicable taxes & fees)
