Song of the Land (Taiwan) – Formosa Circus Art

Established in 2011, Formosa Circus Art (FOCA) proudly takes its name from “beautiful island” Taiwan, reflecting the troupe’s deep pride in its roots. As the first Taiwanese circus troupe to perform at prestigious international events such as the Avignon Festival in France and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the UK, FOCA has become a pioneering force from Taiwan in the global circus community.

FOCA blends traditional forms, street culture, and theatre arts to craft a distinctive and diverse form of contemporary circus art. As a dynamic platform for a variety of performances, they cultivate a unique physical vocabulary proudly showcasing the richness of Taiwanese creativity. With over 1,500 performances in more than 30 countries and numerous cities, FOCA serves as a cultural ambassador, showcasing the vibrant tapestry of contemporary Taiwanese circus art around the world.
