The Stones of Atlantis Theatre Camp
Imagine a group of youth from a local archaeology club find a mysterious stone artifact while out on a dig near an ocean. As they explore its origin they find it is part of a larger puzzle. On their journey they observe clues from the many environmental changes that the planet has experienced over the last few centuries. When descendants of an ancient power-hungry society hear of their discovery, they try to stop the group every step of the way. Will they find all the stones of Atlantis? Maybe the lost city itself?
Join us at the Tidemark Theatre in this two-week theatre camp for students ages 8-14. In this adventure, students will explore improv acting, theatre skills, character development and more… Discover what goes on behind the scenes to help bring this adventure to life. All theatre camp participants will take part in a public final performance. This year’s camp will provide mentorship opportunities behind the scenes in positions in lighting, sound, props & set design, and stage management.
What to expect at the camp
This year’s theatrical experience will be entirely created by the youth, as they will not only be acting in the show but also there will be opportunities for them to work with mentors in Lighting, Sound, Set/Props and Stage Management.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn key acting techniques such as character development, vocal projection and memorization. Improvisational theatre skills will be used to create a 45 min original production open to the public, family and friends on Friday July 26th at 2:00 pm.
