In a secluded village near the border of Quebec and the United States, a strict customs officer named Sonia seizes the belongings of Victor, a French chef living in New York. However, Sonia soon regrets her actions when her daughter, Lili-beth, enters a cooking competition with slim chances of success. Determined to help her daughter, Sonia goes to great lengths to persuade the charismatic yet frustrating Victor to assist.
